In 1892, the Queen Regent Maria Cristina de Habsburgo y Lorena founds the Real Center for Higher Studies that bears his name and entrusts the Orden de San Agustín his address. World personalities have passed through its classrooms of politics, academics and journalists.
Our center is part of the monumental architectural environment of the Royal Monastery of El Escorial, we are depositaries and continuators of the cultural and study tradition that characterizes it since its founding in the 16th century.
Currently, the RCU is a member of the International Federation of Universities Catholic (FIUC). The FIUC is made up of more than 200 universities and institutions Catholics of higher education, which collaborate and support each other through a common website and regular meetings, in order to offer an education and quality education, in addition to favoring and supporting the research work of teachers and students.
